More details about LASIK Eye Surgery
LASIK stands for Laser in Situ Keratomileusis that commonly performed laser refractive surgery to correct vision problems. It can be the best alternative to glasses or contact lenses and is used to precisely change the shape of the dome-shaped clear tissue at the front of your eye to improve vision. With normal vision, the cornea bends light precisely onto the retina at the back of the eye in eyes. But the light is bent incorrectly in case of nearsightedness (myopia), farsightedness (hyperopia), or astigmatism and resulting in blurred vision.

Procedure of LASIK Eye Surgery
There are three main steps to a LASIK procedure:
During the Procedure
LASIK surgery is a one of the short procedures that normally takes under 30 minutes.
Before surgery, the person will experience a thorough evaluation of the eyes to test for any infection, inflammation, or abnormal eye pressure. Then the surgeon will take complete measurements of the eye and cornea.
During the surgery, the person will be awake and may receive medication to relax them if they feel nervous.
Afterward, the person will lie back in a reclining chair, and the surgeon will place numbing drops into the eyes. In addition, they will use an instrument to hold the eyelids open.
A soft corneal suction ring will hold the eye in position, and this may cause dim vision to patient. With use a tiny blade, the eye surgeon will cut a hinged flap at the front of the cornea. The surgeon will then use a laser to remove precise amounts of tissue and remodel the cornea with the flap folded back.
As required, the laser uses a system to follow the eye’s position and redirect the laser’s pulses. Then the surgeon will carefully reposition the flap back into place over the cornea. Moreover, natural adhesion keeps the flap in place without the need for stitches.
